Yamai Pottery was established in 1967 in the Tsumagi district of Gifu Prefecture. Specializing in the Mino style, our mission is to enrich people's lives through pottery.

Using traditional Gabaikomi (slip-casting), we are determined to express the unique Japanese worldview by combining two words that cannot be expressed with porcelain, which is made of white clay: "Wabi," which represents beauty in simplicity, and "Sabi," which represents the way things deteriorate over time.
